Dr. Massage BGC – The Story of Two Japanese Founders

Dr. Massage BGC began with a simple but powerful vision: to bring real health back to the body — not just temporary relief.

Three years ago, two Japanese practitioners, INOUE and YAMAMOTO, started building what would eventually become Dr. Massage BGC in the Philippines.

The Beginning of a Vision

INOUE had been considering a business in the Philippines for several years. During his visits, he carefully observed the local lifestyle — long working hours, physically demanding jobs, irregular eating habits, and the high prevalence of conditions such as diabetes and hypertension.

He began to ask a fundamental question:

In a country known as a massage capital of the world, why do so many people still live with chronic pain?

He realized that while massage was everywhere, true structural and neurological correction was rare. Most treatments provided relaxation — but not transformation.

INOUE believed that wasn't enough.

Two Paths, One Philosophy

When YAMAMOTO met INOUE, it may not have been a coincidence.

Both had spent many years in Japan studying the human body — but from different perspectives.

YAMAMOTO was the theorist.
He deeply studied neuroscience and anatomy, pursuing scientific answers to why the body experiences pain, why it misaligns, and how dysfunction develops over time.

INOUE was the practitioner.
Through years of training in traditional Japanese Kobujutsu (ancient martial arts), he mastered the concept of "transmitting force without using force." Over time, he transformed this embodied knowledge into a unique therapeutic philosophy.

When they combined their expertise, a new method began to take shape.

A New Approach to Massage

They agreed on one principle:

Relief alone is not enough.
The body must be restored.

Their method focuses on:

• Correcting neural pathways
• Realigning muscle and skeletal relationships
• Stimulating synaptic response
• Awakening the body's natural self-healing ability

INOUE firmly believed:

"If the body is used correctly, it can heal itself."

However, bringing Japanese techniques directly into the Philippines would not work. The physical tendencies, posture habits, and lifestyle patterns were different.

So they studied.
They observed.
They adjusted.

After many discussions and refinements, they developed a method specifically adapted for Filipino bodies.

The Challenge of Training Therapists

Another major challenge was therapist education.

This technique could not simply be taught through explanation. Especially concepts rooted in Kobujutsu — such as subtle weight transfer and directional force flow — had to be felt and internalized.

INOUE worked closely with Filipino therapists, overcoming language barriers and patiently teaching hand placement, body positioning, and sensitivity to neural response.

At first, it was difficult.

But when clients began saying:

The therapists began to understand the true meaning of the method — not just intellectually, but physically.

Opening in August 2025

After years of preparation, Dr. Massage BGC officially opened in August 2025.

The choice of BGC (Bonifacio Global City) was intentional.

BGC is one of the Philippines' major business districts — home to:

• Corporate professionals
• Executives
• Healthcare workers
• Entrepreneurs

Many of them live with chronic stress and physical exhaustion, yet continue pushing forward every day.

INOUE and YAMAMOTO wanted to serve exactly these people.

A Simple Dream

INOUE often says his dream is not grand.

"I just want to improve the body of the person in front of me."

But one person becomes two.
Two becomes ten.
Ten becomes hundreds.

And slowly, what is considered "normal health" in a country can change.

Today, inside a quiet room in BGC, the two founders continue their mission —
helping Filipinos rediscover what a balanced, pain-free body truly feels like.
